Recovering from rotator cuff surgery
Being 7 weeks since my surgery, I am not no longer required to be in the sling at all times, and I am prescribed actual PT that is hard work and can be somewhat painful. It is amazing how the protocol after surgery is compared to the physical therapy you get after injury without surgery. I was told by the doctor shoulders are the most difficult in terms of time because of how mobile and the range of motion it has.
It feels as if now that I am permitted to be out of the arm sling , at least when I am not in public places, has put me into the harder stage of the more painful and difficult physical therapy exercises. In spite of the bruises fading, I remain very limited still in my ability to use my right arm, occasionally still have pain, but that is apparently quite normal at this stage.
I am still very happy to have the option of not being in the arm sling. I never did get around to purchasing a cape coat, and now the weather is turning cold. It is not really very convenient to be wearing a warm puffer coat and use an arm sling. I have been wearing coats that have buttons so that I can wear it drapped. I am still considering the cape coat, it could be quite goth-retro-ren-faire!
